Honey, I’m Home!

The ministry in Kenya is pure joy for me.But, the travel is tough.  And being away from Teresa has not gotten easier with the years. And, for some reason the last short flight from Atlanta to Little Rock always tests me.  Slowest baggage claim ever in Atlanta today.  Then, the TSA process looked like the horror footage from a few weeks ago.  All of that send me rushing through the airport, like I and all of you who travel have done so many times in the past.  By the time I reach Atlanta I am...

Not my favorite wake-up call.

Well, it looks like the enemy stole a day from me.  And, one of my favorite days in Kenya at that.  There have been numerous protests in Kenya this past year.  The university students do not like the condition and direction that the current administration is taking Kenya.  When gas prices soared over 30% this weekend, another breaking point was reached.I had to adjust my plans and schedule for my last day on this visit.  You will find the story in the attached journal.  This trip has been...

It’s a sign!

The times, they are ‘a changin’.  But, God?  Not so much.A new chapter has begun in the Kenya ministry.  It is like the maze corn I have been driving by for the past week.  slowly by slowly it grows.  And then one day–the stalks are above our heads filling with the harvest.  You are going to enjoy this read! Time for apology and confession.  I hear it is good for the soul? The last journal (Light Academy) was so filled with errors I...

Everything old is new again.

I’m a firm believer in dancing with the one that brought you. But, our Kenya ministry tempo has sped up to the point that these old feet were tangled over themselves.  God’s success resulting in unmanageable growth and expansion nearly had me in panic mode.  And then I remembered, this was exactly what was supposed to happen through God’s math of multiplication.  No need for panic or change.  Just a deep breath, and keep on the same path that brought us here.  But, we...

Sunday in Kenya.

I need new ink.  Something with smells, temperature changes and volume controls.  My words are much too weak for days like today.  It’s not a writer’s tease.  You will enjoy this glimpse of my Sunday in Kitale. Read the journal here!

Update on Pastor Harrison

Guess who joined us for breakfast this morning? I have attached the update/report.  There are still tests and scans to do today.  We are taking advantage of this incident to check Pastor Harrison out fully.  We cannot lose our field generals! Enjoy the read.  All of you “Google docs” will be disappointed.  There’s not a lot of detail. But for now, just look at the picture…and smile. It is true:  “the effectual, fervent...

URGENT PRAYER NEED!

Pastor Harrison (Tasia, Kenya) collapsed at our leadership conference tonight and hit his head on the tile floor.  He is currently at the hospital being treated and evaluated.  Attached is a brief narrative, but we do not know anything more to report just now.  He is conscious, on IV drip, and being scan or evaluation. Tonight was session I.  We were getting ready to have an extended time of praise and prayer.  So…as Harrison left, that is what we did.  We worshiped an prayed. ...

Our lambs become lions.

Each sunset devotional with the kids at Seeds Children’s Home is unique.  But, I wasn’t ready for what God had prepared for us Sunday evening.   Grab a tissue and get your shouting voice warmed up.  It’s good, good God-stuff! Read the journal here!

Made it!

Made it safely to Nairobi.  Arrived ahead of schedule with all luggage.  Long awaited hot shower and collapsed into a great bed for God’s recovery therapy…sleep. Today is a travel day up-country to Kitale.   I wrote a bit about the trip and my day today.  There is no explanation for as smooth a trip as this one apart from the favor of God and the prayers of the saints.  I am thankful for both. Read the journal here!
