Pretending doesn’t make it go away

As you read this prayer letter I am finishing week 1 of my 18 day return trip to Kenya.  I have been visiting the various ministries that I could not spend time with on my April visit.  In a few days a wonderful team from one of our partnering U.S. churches will join me for their first on-the-ground ministry experience in Kenya.  On this team are some life-long friends and ministry partners.  I believe God has some treats in store for us as we join Him in His work in Kenya.

This month I am catching up on some long overdue communication about our feeding station/school ministry in the slums.  I have avoided writing for a lot of reasons…none of them good or sufficent.

I write more about discipleship, and pastor training, and church planting because that is my passion and calling.  And…because it is much more spiritual and a lot less messy than the ministry to the street children in the slum.

I can’t tell you what I know, I can’t show you what I see, I can’t give you a whiff of the aromas this ministry generates as I walk through the slums.  But…I need you to join me!  We are in over our head and have been since the very first meal we served to the very first street child over 20 years ago.
